NOTE: Due to multiple staffing changes in the math department, students do NOT need to collect signatures from past math teachers in order to complete the application process.

• Attend at least one meeting per marking period.

• Maintain an overall GPA of 87% or higher

• Maintain a math course average of 93% or higher

• Complete at least two of the following activities
  * Offer peer tutoring at least once per marking period
  * Participate in at least one math competition throughout the school year
  * Participate in at least two fundraising events throughout the school year

• Seniors must be enrolled in Personal Finance to fulfill graduation requirements. To remain in Mu Alpha Theta, seniors must also enroll in at least one additional math course. The only exception to this rule is that students who completed AP Calculus BC during their junior year do not need to complete an additional math course senior year to remain eligible.

We will recognize students from Fall 2025 at the induction ceremony on Thursday, November 6 at 6:00 PM in the High School Auditorium. There will be light refreshments served in the Commons after the ceremony. All officers are expected to attend. All members will be recognized at the ceremony with presentation of a membership certificate from the national office or a certificate of continued membership from Mrs. Fisher.

Paint Night 5:30 - 8:30

• Tickets cost $35. Any Mu Alpha Theta member who sells at least one ticket may also participate in the paint night event at a reduced rate of $15.

MathWorks Math Modeling Challenge

Team Competition - Teams must include 3 to 5 students
Only juniors and seniors are eligible

• One problem to solve as a team in a 14-hour timeframe 

• Must set aside time during the dedicated challenge weekend at the end of February/beginning of March

• Eligible for scholarship awards between $1,000 and $20,000
