SENIORS!! Here we are. Although it might not feel quite real, our final year of High School has started. I wanna get right to the point here though. For the past couple years, we’ve all become accustomed to the term senioritis: “a supposed affliction of students in their final year of high school or college, characterized by a decline in motivation or performance”. I’m sure we’ve all felt this lack of motivation; in this life hard and long days are almost unavoidable.
But guess what? We get to choose. We can stagger through this year with pessimistic attitudes, hardly coming to class, wishing it was over, keeping to ourselves. Or we can come together. We can choose to see the good. Choose to make the most of our time. Choose to learn, to serve, to engage! We can choose to see school as an opportunity rather than a requirement.
Finding joy in this final year is a choice, and I encourage you all to choose it. Let’s fly higher Skyhawks!
