Class Dojo

What’s ClassDojo?

ClassDojo is a global community of more than 50 million teachers and families who come together to share kids’ most important learning moments, in school and at home—through photos, videos, messages, and more.

How does it manage student behavior?

Each student will have their own Class Dojo account connected to our class. On their profile, they can create and dress up their own Class Dojo Monster. They can also view their class points on their profile. Points are rewarded or lost based on in class behavior. I award points for being good examples, following classroom rules, being kind, working as a team, and giving their best effort. Points are lost when rules are broken or poor choices are made.

What's the Point of Points?

At the end of each week, students can spend their points in my classroom store. The longer they save their points, the better the prizes they can afford are.

Prizes include:

Daily Store

Students can also use their Dojo Points to purchase classroom supplies. All students receive these things for free at the beginning of the year, but must pay Dojo Points for replacements.  This is in an attempt to teach students to be responsible for and take care of their own supplies.

Dojo Messaging

Dojo Messaging is a great way for teachers and parents to communicate about student concerns or class announcements. Messages are instant and private. No group messages, no phone number exchange, no need for formal email etiquette.

Stay Connected

Class Dojo contains a social element. Parents and students can like and comment pictures and videos posted. Don't worry- these are private to our class. Only students and parents connected to our class on Class Dojo can see them.
