The Western U.S. Paleoglaciers Working Group held a workshop on the production of a paleoglaciers database. The goals of the workshop were to develop a strategy for improving and expanding the existing set of georeferenced paleoglacier outlines to align with research, educational, and outreach interests among the working group.

1. Arrival in Salt Lake City for air travelers. For those arriving at the SLC airport, we recommend using the TRAX light rail to get from the airport to Plaza Best Western Downtown. Leif has provided a Google Map with the locations of the TRAX stations at the airport and at Temple Square. For details about the TRAX light rail, or if you are not staying at the Plaza hotel downtown, please visit https://www.rideuta.com/Services/TRAX. Rideshare is also available from SLC airport.
2. Arrival at the University of Utah for the workshop. We will meet at 9 am (mountain time) on Wednesday morning outside FESB at the location shown on the Google Map. For those staying at the Best Western, we will ride the free Route 1 bus from West Temple (just east of the hotel) to campus. For those driving to campus, please see the parking locations on the Google Map (and the email message you received from Leif on Monday). Free parking is available.
3. Workshop schedule. The workshop will be held in FESB 303. If you arrive late on any of the meeting days, please come to that room to join the group. A detailed schedule of planned events is on the website. The Google Map has several food/coffee options, including the student union near FESB.
4. WiFi and laptops. Please remember to bring your own laptop to the workshop. We will have access to guest WiFi on campus, and eduroam users will be able to connect automatically.
5. Presentations. These will take place on Friday afternoon starting at 1:45 pm mountain time. If you are presenting, we can either connect your laptop to technology in FESB 303 or you can copy your presentation to machine.
6. Field trip/weather info. The mornings will be cold, likely around 32F, including the morning field trip on Saturday. Please be prepared for some light hiking on the field trip and plan to bring warm layers to wear at the field trip stops. The field trip will conclude by 12 pm. More details about the field trip are coming soon.
7. Saturday departures. We will need to check out of the hotel before the field trip on Saturday. It may be easiest to store luggage at the Best Western after checkout and retrieve it after the field trip, but we will need to check on this possibility. I will have a minivan available for shuttling people to the airport prior to 5 pm on Saturday.
