Meet Our Third Grade Teachers

ELA Teacher
I graduated from the University Of Northern Colorado with my Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and Elementary Education. I have worked 24 years as an elementary teacher. I have taught 1st, 2nd and 5th grades.
I just moved here from Colorado four summers ago with my two children, Andrew, is 16 and in 11th grade and Connor is 14 and in 9th grade.
I love being outside and enjoying the beautiful trails here in North Carolina. I also love to snuggle up with a good book or go bowling with my family.
I am excited to learn and grow with you this year!
I am a native of Avery County, North Carolina. I have lived in Burke County for over 40 years. I graduated from Appalachian State University in 2010 with a degree in Elementary Education. I started at New Dimensions in 2013 and worked as an interim and a sub. I became a full time employee in the Spring of 2014. I have a son, Michael who is attending Mid-America Christian University. I have a goddaughter, Rebekah who is married to Sean. They have a little boy who is 10 and to whom I am known as Gigi. They have a baby girl on the way! I also have a godson, whose name is Daniel.
I enjoy working outside in my flowers and making crafts. I love to spend time with my family whenever I can. We love to go on picnics, go to festivals and exploring new places.
I am happy to be returning to New Dimensions this year! My son, Walter, is a Freshman at Freedom and my daughter, Gracie is a Sophomore at Freedom High School.
I graduated from Clemson University with a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education. I also have a Masters Degree in Divergent Learning from Columbia College. I was National Board Certified for 10 years.
I love to read and play with my dog. I love to be on the water. I spend a lot of time boating on Lake James.

Math & Science Teacher
My teaching career began in 2000 in a public elementary school. I taught for 9 years and then stayed at home with my four children and homeschooled them for a decade. This is now my third year teaching 3rd grade at New Dimensions, and I love it!
Born and raised in Morganton, I went to UNC-Chapel Hill and earned Bachelor's Degrees in Elementary Education and Spanish. I also have a Master's Degree in School Administration.
Both my sons, Jackson and Hampton, attend Appalachian State University, my daughter Kennedy, is a Junior at Freedom and my daughter, Harper is an 8th grader here at NDS.
I love traveling to new places, singing in church, drinking coffee and hanging out with my family and friends.
I am a native of Morganton and have lived here my entire life. I graduated from Freedom High School. I have been here at NDS for 3 years. My previous experience includes being a supervisor in the prison system.
I have four children. One who is a student here at NDS in the 4th grade.
I spend most of my time as a cub master with Scouting America. I'm also a coach with the school's achery team. I enjoy reading, crafting and being outdoors.
