I graduated from the University of Northern Colorado with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and Elementary Education. This year marks my 25th year in education, and I have had the privilege of teaching 1st, 2nd, and 5th grades throughout my career.
Five summers ago, I moved to North Carolina from Colorado with my two children, Andrew and Connor. Andrew is now a senior, and Connor is a sophomore, and both attend EBHS.
When I’m not at school, I enjoy spending time with my family and exploring all that beautiful North Carolina has to offer. I love being outdoors, discovering new places, and spending time at the beach. I also enjoy relaxing with a good mystery novel, watching Netflix, and going bowling with my family.
I am a native of Avery County, North Carolina. I have lived in Burke County for over 40 years. I graduated from Appalachian State University in 2010 with a degree in Elementary Education. I started at New Dimensions in 2013 and worked as an interim and a sub. I became a full time employee in the Spring of 2014. I have a son, Michael who is attending Mid-America Christian University. I have a goddaughter, Rebekah who is married to Sean. They have a little boy who is 10 and to whom I am known as Gigi. They have a baby girl on the way! I also have a godson, whose name is Daniel.
I enjoy working outside in my flowers and making crafts. I love to spend time with my family whenever I can. We love to go on picnics, go to festivals and exploring new places.
I am so happy to be back for my 4th year here at NDS! My son, Walter, is now a Sophomore at Freedom, and my daughter, Gracie, is a Junior at Freedom High School.
I graduated from Clemson University with a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education and later earned my Master's Degree in Divergent Learning from Columbia College. I was also National Board Certified for 10 years.
Outside of school, I love curling up with a good book, playing with my dog, and spending as much time on the water as possible—especially boating on Lake James!

My teaching career began in 2000 in a public elementary school. I taught for 9 years and then stayed at home with my four children and homeschooled them for a decade. This is now my third year teaching 3rd grade at New Dimensions, and I love it!
Born and raised in Morganton, I went to UNC-Chapel Hill and earned Bachelor's Degrees in Elementary Education and Spanish. I also have a Master's Degree in School Administration.
Both my sons, Jackson and Hampton, attend Appalachian State University, my daughter Kennedy, is a Junior at Freedom and my daughter, Harper is an 8th grader here at NDS.
I love traveling to new places, singing in church, drinking coffee and hanging out with my family and friends.
