8th Grade ELA / Humanities
I'm so excited to be joining the 8th grade team at NDS this year. I have a degree in mass communications from UNC Asheville and am currently working towards a graduate certificate in education from App State. I enjoy reading, musical theatre, movies, and spending time with my husband and 3 kids. We also have 4 dogs, 2 cats, and a horse. Some of my favorite books include The Great Gatsby, To Kill a Mockingbird, The House in the Cerulean Sea, and anything by Riley Sager.

I am so happy to be here at New Dimensions. I have 3 kids and one beautiful granddaughter. They all live in Mitchell County. I just moved to Morganton and love it here. I have lived in Burke County before and even taught here for a few years so I know the area pretty well. I recently retired from public school teaching. I have been to several schools and systems and have coached many sports. I recently was the head Baseball coach at Avery High School. I am looking forward to hopefully starting a baseball team here at New Dimensions.

Hey everyone! I am so excited to continue my journey as a teacher at NDS. I moved to Morganton in 2021 after graduating from Appalachian State with a Bachelor's in Exercise Science. I am currently working on gaining my Master's Degree in Social Work through Wingate University. Along with being a teacher and fellow student, I am also a personal trainer! In my (very minimal) free time, I enjoy spending time with my husband, Kross and our two dogs Rooster, and Mango. I enjoy going to the gym, or going for a run on the greenway. I have always had a passion for science and learning the little details about how stuff works! I am excited to share this passion with my students and look forward to another great year!
