Dear Parents and Community Members,
Welcome to our Digital Learning class! In today’s world, technology touches nearly every part of our lives — from how we learn and communicate to how we create and share ideas. Our Digital Learning program is designed to help students become confident, responsible, and thoughtful digital citizens who can navigate the online world safely and effectively.
To guide our instruction, we are using the Digital Literacy & Well-Being Curriculum developed by Common Sense Education (commonsense.org). This award-winning curriculum provides age-appropriate lessons and resources that teach students how to:
Use technology safely and responsibly
Protect their privacy and personal information
Think critically about online content and media
Build healthy digital habits and balance screen time
Communicate kindly and respectfully online
Understand their digital footprint and reputation
Our goal is not only to help students use digital tools effectively but also to foster digital well-being, empowering them to make positive choices and develop empathy, respect, and integrity both online and offline.
We invite families to explore the free resources available at commonsense.org/education/family-resources to support conversations at home about digital life. Working together, we can help our students become safe, smart, and ethical digital citizens.
Thank you for your continued partnership and support in helping our students thrive in an ever-connected world.
Warm regards,
Jennifier Auton
