What we will learn this year in Band

Band will be offered to Middle School Students grades 6-8.

This year will look a little different but with music being so important to a students mental and physical development , I am committed to making our band class as safe as possible.

For the first few weeks we will be focusing on music theory. This will give our students a strong base when it comes to learning to play a musical instrument. After the theory base has been established we will move on to learning to make music. Students will be at a safe social distance when inside and we will also utilize some of our outside areas when weather and time permits.

Students need to come to class prepared and with an open mind each day. Music is the sound of our emotions and can be one of the greatest releases that our students have.

Information for what each student will need for their instrument will be given at open house or within the first few days of school.

Band Concert Attire : All band students will have the same concert attire - Boys : White Button Up Dress Shirt, Black Pants ( no shorts), and Black Dress Shoes ( no tennis shoes or sandals) Girls: White Button up Dress Shirt ( solid with collar), Black Bottoms (pants or skirt, skirts must be knee length or longer.
