Love at Sunset

Many layers of Derwent Inktense pencils create a vibrant sunset.   A single stamped word, "love," communicates the sentiment.  Behind the thrifted frame, the piece is a mailable postcard on watercolor paper.

(Linework Stamp by Angela Porter via Hampton Arts)

Careful layering and blending of alcohol markers on watercolor paper takes more than 3 hours - per tree!  Gel pens add sparkle.

Professional artist Angela Porter created the stamp behind the linework, leaving the colorist free to experiment with repetition and variation on the theme.

Despite the painstaking process and high quality alcohol ink, alcohol markers were never meant to last.  Favored by illustrators, work like this is meant to be scanned, digitized, and possibly printed.  The original work will fade quickly in strong light.
