Message from Sprints Coordinator
Hello! My name is Theresa Kerker, and I am the sprints coordinator this year for ND Running Club. I joined last year as a freshman, and I am so happy that I decided to continue my running career with this club. My main events are the 100m hurdles and the 400m hurdles, but I also love a good 4x400 relay.
In the past, ND Running Club has been a mainly distance team, but in recent years, there has been an influx of sprinters, which is amazing! This past year, myself and another member of the club earned NIRCA All-American status for both hurdle events by placing in the top 8 at Nationals in the spring!
This year, I will be working to give sprinters more opportunities to train, bond, and compete. During the fall semester, we will have one light practice per week. During the spring semester, we will have 2-3 practices per week. However, you are more than welcome to organize group lifts or workouts together! In the spring, we ran at 5 track meets as a team, but that number could change based on funding/interest. You can do as many or as little meets as you want. If anyone has any questions about sprinting specifically, please feel free to reach out to either runclub@nd.edu or tkerker@nd.edu. I am so excited to meet y’all!
