Welcome

The Notre Dame Militia of the Immaculata

The Notre Dame Militia of the Immaculata is a student-run organization serving the students, faculty, and staff of the University of Notre Dame, Saint Mary’s College, and Holy Cross College. We are the local chapter of the worldwide evangelization movement founded by Saint Maximilian Kolbe in 1917 “to lead every individual with Mary to the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus.” The international MI now has approximately 4 million members worldwide.

Father Sorin claimed that he "dreamed of building a great university in honor of Our Lady,” and we continue his vision by honoring her and her special relationship to Christ. The NDMI is a community where members challenge each other to grow in their faith and serve others through prayer, evangelization, and charitable outreach. Please explore our site for more information or to learn about getting involved.

“Membership in the Militia means complete dedication to the Kingdom of God and to the salvation of souls through Mary Immaculate.”

-Pope Saint John Paul II, Address to the MI in Rome, October 18, 1981
