Mother’s Sanctuary was founded in June 2024 to step directly into the gaps that local single and expectant mothers face across St. Joseph County. Our mission is deeply rooted in our founder’s unique blend of professional casework background and her own powerful lived experience. We understand firsthand that navigating early motherhood under financial strain or systemic barriers can feel like an exhausting, uphill battle. Because of this, Mother’s Sanctuary was created not to be an intimidating public agency, but a soft, relational shield that protects our community’s newest families during their baby's most critical first year.
We replace the isolation of early parenting with a supportive, 12-month mother's circle. Members gather for monthly workshops focused on maternal wellness, with free childcare provided on-site.
We eliminate the stressful monthly scramble for basic necessities like diapers, wipes, and formula. Active members earn points through program participation to fully customize their monthly infant supply kits.
We cut through the stressful red tape of complex social service systems. Operating as a state-certified Application Organization, Gina provides step-by-step advocacy to help families secure vital public benefits.
To protect our founder's time, preserve our operational budget, and ensure deep, high-quality care for our active families, Mother’s Sanctuary operates under strict, purposeful guidelines:
We proudly serve single and expectant mothers (starting in their third trimester) until their child's very first birthday celebration. Our core footprint is St. Joseph County, with a flexible border policy to welcome regional Michiana families based on our current capacity limits.
To save on unmanageable fuel costs and protect administrative hours, stable families are asked to use our central community pick-up locations for supplies. Direct home delivery is strictly reserved for high-risk maternal health conditions or families with zero access to transportation.
Mother's Sanctuary is a lean, grassroots social enterprise. We do not provide immediate emergency cash aid, housing placements, or legal representation. Instead, we connect you with the specific local agencies that do, while wrapping you in the material supplies and advocacy needed to stand on your own feet.
Mother’s Sanctuary was born out of a deeply personal desire to provide real stabilization for single and expectant mothers navigating early parenthood under financial strain and systemic barriers. Founder Gina Williams brings her unique blend of personal lived experience and professional casework background to wrap our community’s newest families in a relational shield during their baby’s critical first year. Guided by our Three Core Pillars - Mentoring & Training, Maternal Products, and Resource Connectivity - Mother’s Sanctuary offers more than just temporary relief. We are a dedicated village combining expert advocacy with compassionate care to build a safe, dignified foundation for lasting family success across St. Joseph County.
