Teaching Philosophy:
My teaching is grounded in the belief that students learn best in an inclusive, engaging, and supportive environment that combines clear expectations with active participation. I am committed to fostering a classroom culture in which all students feel comfortable asking questions, engaging with diverse perspectives, and taking intellectual risks. I strive to make complex methodological and statistical concepts accessible by integrating lectures, discussion, hands-on data analysis, and collaborative learning activities that encourage students to connect theory with practice. Moreover, as a methodological pragmatist, I believe that research questions should guide methodological choices. I bring this same perspective into the classroom by emphasizing inquiry, critical thinking, and the iterative nature of learning. Ultimately, my goal is not only to help students master disciplinary knowledge but also to cultivate the analytical, research, and communication skills and confidence that they will carry into their professional and personal lives.
My effectiveness as an instructor is reflected in my outstanding teaching evaluations, departmental and university teaching awards, and my continued investment in evidence-based, inclusive pedagogy through professional development.
