Impact

Dr. Abigail Mechtenberg, the ESDD research group, and key collaborators contribute in various ways to the current understanding of energy and sustainable development with design. By forming a unified team, all researchers, collaborators, and design teams are empowered to influence growth and progress in future sustainable energy and research and development initiatives in low- to middle-income countries. This impact is demonstrated through co-publications, presentations, and other activities that have an effect on policy.

Presentations &/or Policy Initiatives

Sustainable Energy for All (SEforALL) Charrettes, June 18-20, 2019, Amsterdam, Netherlands

Dr. Mechtenberg is part of a select group of individuals from a wide range of backgrounds, nationalities and sectors invited to participate in a set of charrettes to conduct intensive inquiry into specific questions resulting in defined pathways and actions for greater speed and scale and to continue to expand the movement around achieving sustainable energy for all. The charrettes will provide input and momentum for the UN Secretary-General’s Climate Summit in September, and for the High-level sessions on SDGs and Financing for Development at the UN General Assembly to be held at the same time.
