Welcome New and Returning Students and Volunteers!

Purpose

The Community Alliance to Serve Hispanics (CASH) is a social service club at the University of Notre Dame. Our volunteers assist the Hispanic community in South Bend by working with La Casa de Amistad and their Citizenship Preparation Program that aims to help community members achieve their citizenship status via volunteer-led courses. With volunteers serving twice a week, we offer transportation via carpool to and from, a tight-knit community, and an opportunity to grow from outside of the Notre Dame campus. Throughout the year, we hope to hold member-wide events, collaborate with other great campus organizations, and spread awareness of the incredible work that La Casa de Amistad does in our South Bend community. We are constantly looking for dedicated volunteers to serve!

What We Do

CASH seeks to help community members obtain their citizenship and advance their English literacy by becoming one with the students we serve. We assist La Casa de Amistad with their hybrid Citizenship classes to help students not only achieve their citizenship but also to reinforce their English skills and provide Civics lessons to both new and future citizens in a positive, collaborative environment. Immense opportunities to learn and teach occur when both teachers and students uphold confidence and community in a class of diverse backgrounds.
