About Us

Training Mission Statement

GNC exists to provide quality training, education, and high-end customer service within Ireland's local and extended community using the ethos that all members of society, regardless of circumstance, are entitled to quality education, training and access to quality, well-paid jobs.

Our Standards

We strive for excellence in all our courses and staff. We undergo rigorous in-house self-evaluation of all programs and policies frequently and examine all feedback from learners and centres to ensure that GNC can stand over its standards of excellence.

Accreditation

GNC is responsible for delivering education and training awards on behalf of the following awarding bodies:

Attendance and Timekeeping

Responsibility for class attendance rests with the learner. Regular and punctual attendance at all scheduled classes is expected. Instructors/tutors set an attendance policy for each course they deliver. Learner absences may affect grades and certification, and excessive absences constitute a cause for dropping a learner from class. Funders will be informed of non-attendance if training is part of a funded return to work programme.

Entry Requirements

Requirements for course entry will vary from course to course and are always stated on the course descriptor. Most of the courses at Glin National College have no formal entry requirements.

Equality Statement

We provide quality and professional services to all our clients, regardless of age, sex, race, colour, religion, national origin, sexual orientation, mental or physical disabilities, or ability to pay for the services. Our values system is to show a sensitive and caring response and be accountable and transparent in all our dealings with our clientele. We aim to pursue professional excellence and a quality standard system to serve our community's needs. Glin National College brings fairness and a high moral ethic to deliver all its services.

Certification Collection

Glin National College does not post certificates to participants due to the chance of them being lost. The individual must accept full responsibility if a participant insists that certificates are mailed.

Glin National College Self-Evaluation

Glin National College strives for excellence in all our courses and staff. We undergo rigorous in-house self-evaluation of all programs and policies frequently. We examine all feedback from learners and centres to ensure that Glin National College can stand over its standards of excellence.

Health and Safety

All Health and Safety rules and guidelines are delivered to learners at the beginning of the first class. Your Tutor will cover fire alarm procedures, class rules, accident procedures, and security. Safety guidelines are listed on notice boards around the Glin Centre.

Mobile Phones

Mobile phones are necessary for most learners; however, learners must place mobile phones in silent mode on entering the classroom out of regard for the other participants. Learners may use their phones during class to access the course Google Classroom App under the direction of the course tutor.

Personal Conduct

The tutor will explain the Glin National College conduct policy to all learners at the start of the first class. Glin National College will not tolerate harassment and will deal with it in conjunction with our Quality Assurance procedures. Please help us maintain Glin National College's outstanding reputation as a warm and inviting centre.

Consistent Assessment

All Glin National College-certified private courses follow, where possible, standard testing and grading policies to ensure all learners are assessed fairly. All awards courses follow the marking system we developed for our QQI-validated courses.

Recognition of Prior Learning

Glin National College's policy is to provide our learners with clear, concise and detailed information about our courses. We recognise our learner's prior training records and consider this when accepting people onto our courses. We enable learners to transfer or progress onto another course offered by Glin National College or another provider, leading to an award within the National Framework of Qualifications, where possible.

Communications Policy

Our policy is to ensure that all information is accessible to all parts of the community we serve and is available in formats our target audience can understand. To actively seek and listen to the views of learners, employees and board members and use that feedback in planning, preparing, publishing, and reviewing information. We also ensure that our information and publicity materials conform to Glin National College's quality assurance procedures.

Assessment and Appeals Policy

All of our assessment principles directly adhere to our quality control procedures. If an appeal is requested, we carry out the first level of appeal. The appeal will be reviewed and reassessed if it relates to one of Glin National College's private courses. Learners requiring the return of their portfolio after assessment must make this request to the Tutor at the start of the course.

Complaints Procedure

The Glin National College Complaints Procedure offers learners or members of the public a conduit who wish to make a complaint to Glin National College regarding our services. Glin National College's policy is to deal with all complaints fairly and follow the principles of natural fairness and equality. This policy covers all types of complaints, not just bullying or harassment. Complainants should raise their concerns as soon as possible. The Gardai will be contacted immediately if the conduct complained about is violent or criminal.

Special Requirements

Glin National College will facilitate all staff and learners' needs to the best of our ability. Please let us know of any special needs requests you may have before starting your course.
