Dissolving Pulp and Cellulose Derivatives

Dissolving pulp is a specialty pulp with high cellulose content and a raw material for cellulose derivative products. Our research is focused on the development of novel products (e.g. cellulose ether and acetate) from dissolving pulp and fundamental understanding on product-process relationship. For example, non-cellulosic components in dissolving pulp is known as a reason for deterioration of final product quality and processability problems during cellulose derivatives production. However, the issue caused by these components is not fully understood and is primarily based on industrial experience.
