Currently looking for qualified graduate students (or postdoctoral researchers) for the following areas:

1. Carbon material development (e.g. graphite, hard carbon) from lignocellulosic biomass - Computational approach (e.g. molecular dynamic simulation)

2. Carbon material development (e.g. graphite, hard carbon) from lignocellulosic biomass for ion-battery application - Experimental approach

3. Lignin analysis and utilization

4. Biorefinery process modeling using Aspen Plus


Assistantship and qualifications for graduate students: 

Graduate students will receive full financial support as graduate research assistants (GRAs), including stipends, tuition, and health benefitsSuccessful candidates should have a strong knowledge base in chemistry, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, material science, or other related fields. They should also show a strong interest in innovating sustainability and the bioeconomy and have good communication skills, both written and verbal. Successful candidates should hold a Bachelor of Science or Master's degree currently or in the near future.


Qualifications for postdoctoral researchers: 

Qualified candidates will receive full postdoctoral support in accordance with NCSU policy. Successful candidates should possess a strong knowledge base in chemistry, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, materials science, or related fields. Additionally, they must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and demonstrate a record of success through publications or similar achievements.
