This Research and Extension Experience for Undergraduates on Addressing Agricultural Water Pollution is a summer program funded by USDA NIFA. This program is led by faculty members in the Departments of Biological and Agricultural Engineering, Crop and Soil Science, and Agricultural Resources Economics at NC State University.
This program is designed to train upcoming agri-environmental scientists and engineers with interdisciplinary problem-solving, research and communication skills that integrate the science, practice and policy of agricultural water pollution mitigation.
The program will run from May 19, 2025 to July 25, 2025 and will take place on the NC State University campus in Raleigh, NC.
Program Highlights
Learn about water pollution monitoring, regulations and mitigation
Work on a research project with a NC State faculty mentor
Participate in field visits across North Carolina
Network with agro-environmental scientists, regulators and farmers
Travel to France (Seine River Basin area near Paris) for a week to learn about local agricultural water pollution challenges, regulations and practical solutions.
Receive a $8,000 stipend and on-campus lodging at NC State University
