My name is Rachel Gore, and I am a student at NC State set to graduate in May of 2023. I am majoring in Media, Arts, Design & Technology with a concentration in Fiber Arts and Soft Construction and a minor in Film Studies. I am most passionate about integrating digital and physical media, creating new interactions between 2D and 3D design. I am currently focusing on character and costume design; I recently created a four piece wearable art collection for Art2Wear, the biggest event for the College of Design every year. I honed and expanded my skillset by sewing, constructing with EVA foam, pattern drafting, and incorporating LEDs. I am now the student director for Art2Wear.
Art2Wear is a wearable art fashion show at NC State University. I have created a collection of 4 wearable art pieces of characters that exist in their own universe. I have been collaborating with other design students to create a 3D modeled digital backdrop to immerse audience members in the universe. This has improved my skills of pattern drafting my own patterns, sewing garments, EVA foam construction, and more to create my own handmade collection. I worked with digital artists to create a virtual 3D modeled world for the LED Screen backdrop during the performance. My abilities were recognized and I was asked to work as the Student Director for the performance this year. My leadership team and I, entirely student lead, are now planning and putting on the show in April of 2024.

Final Photo for Studio Class:
For this final photo I wanted to immerse my character inside the world that I created for them. I set up a photoshoot with my model and took a variety of photos in order to best show the characters personality. After I chose the best photo I used illustrator to edit the final image.

3D Conceptual Fashion Design
For my final project in my international studio, I created a series of photos of people in Wenceslas Square who I thought had interesting street fashion. I used natural lighting combined with flashes to create a dramatic effect. Each person I talked to was completely different and had different reasons for being in Prague which is what I wanted to call attention to with my photography.
