Eligibility: Enrolled undergraduate students of sophomore or junior standing who are interested in food animal production and data science are eligible to apply. Students who will have graduated by May 2023 are not eligible to participate. Only U.S. citizens are eligible to participate.

Statistics prerequisites: Prior background in statistics (e.g. completion of an introductory statistics course) is recommended, but not required (note that it was previously required, but this requirement is being relaxed to allow for applications from earlier-stage students). Applicants would ideally have understanding of the following statistical concepts prior to starting the program: random variables, probability distributions, hypothesis testing, and regression. Schedule: The program spans 10 weeks, tentatively planned for May 30 - August 4, 2023.

Compensation: Fellows will receive a $5,000 stipend, and have travel expenses (flight, lodging, and transportation) covered for participation in the American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers Annual International Meeting in Omaha, NE, and a 1-week international trip to Florence, Italy.
