The Arabic Studies Club at NC State invites you to join a space for students who are interested in Arabic Studies and to promote language engagement and cultural understanding of Arabic-speaking societies. We will be holding coffee chats, study groups, a mentoring program, and calligraphy sessions!
The Arab Student Organization doubles as an affinity group for Arabs and an educational resource to the general student body at North Carolina State University regarding Arab culture. The organization is committed to promoting peaceful relations between Arabs and non-Arabs alike while celebrating the diversity that exists within Arab culture and heritage.
This 3-part lecture series dives into the topic of language deprivation, a profound, worldwide issue affecting Deaf, Hard-of-Hearing, and DeafBlind children whose access to fluent, early language—signed or spoken—is compromised.
Note: Lectures will be given in ASL and French. English interpretation and captioning will be provided.
Join and bring your friends to the upcoming screening of the award-winning and Oscar-nominated film The Voice of Hind Rajab directed by Kaouther Ben Hania. The screening will be followed by a short discussion. You can view the trailer here.

In this gently observed Moroccan drama, the secret of a master tailor’s homosexuality is woven into his marriage with his ailing wife. Their relationship is challenged by the arrival of a handsome new apprentice. The film, directed by Maryam Touzani, was submitted as Morocco's official entry for the 2022 Oscars.

Join Multicultural Student Affairs for an enlightening event featuring filmmaker Tarek Albaba for the screening of the impactful film: '36 Seconds: Portrait of a Hate Crime'. The film delves into the aftermath of the tragic incident on February 10, 2015, when Muslim-American NC State alumni Deah Barakat, Yusor Abu-Salha, and Razan Abu-Salha fell victim to senseless violence in their Chapel Hill apartment complex. Following the screening, a thought-provoking panel discussion will unfold with Filmmaker Tarek Albaba alongside academics, community leaders, and historians.
"At the Arab Film and Media Institute (AFMI) we seek to continually change the narrative, share our stories, and foster understanding of our common humanity through art and storytelling. In this dire time, we want to share a selection of films that showcase the history, culture and people of Palestine."
PALESTINIAN VOICES will run through the entire month of November. You can watch most of the films in this series online and from anywhere in the world.

There will be some workshops, including Arabic Calligraphy, at 4:30 PM and a screening of the film Casablanca Beats at 6 PM.
