NC State Dendrology

Dendrology at NC State hones students' skills and enables them to deepen their understanding of the forested world around them.

Students learn plants on a scale from the individual to the community and beyond. Covering such information as basic plant anatomy, morphology, and eventually continuing to learning about the forests of North America and their natural histories, Dendrology at NC State gives a thoughtful look into the forested world around us.

In addition, we teach up to 180 species over the semester during in-field lab sessions, giving students the opportunity to see plants in the wild and in cultivation at several locations in the Raleigh area.
