MYSTERY HILL

Mystery Hill is a unique blend of indoor and outdoor adventure in Blowing Rock, just outside Boone. Attraction abilities vary. Check their website to see the daily offerings. Advanced booking and waivers are required, and activities sell out most days. 

DOC'S GEM MINE AND APPALACHIAN FOSSIL MUSEUM

Doc’s Rocks Gem Mine and the Appalachian Fossil Museum’s goal is to educate the general public on the historical geology of the Appalachian Mountains by explaining how they were formed and what can be found in the area.

JULIAN PRICE MEMORIAL PARK - PICNIC AREA

The Julian Price Memorial Park Picnic Area TRACK Trail adventures are for use on a portion of the Boone Fork trail from the bridge. The TRACK Trail portion of the Boone Fork Trail is a kid-friendly 0.7-mile walk (1.4-mile round-trip). 

BLOWING ROCK ART AND HISTORY MUSEUM

BRAHM is an art and history museum nestled in the mountains of North Carolina. Opened to the public in 2011, it serves as a community cultural center focused on engagement, enrichment, and education for all who visit.

MOSES CONE MEMORIAL PARK

The Moses Cone estate boasts 25 miles of carriage trails through diverse landscapes for carriage, horseback riding, and hiking, including a 20-minute Craftsman’s Trail loop. The estate, enriched by Cone's conservation efforts, features extensive forests, lakes, an apple orchard, and historical structures.

SOUTHERN HIGHLAND CRAFT GUILD

The Southern Highland Craft Guild, founded in 1930, supports Appalachian craftspeople through advocacy, education, and marketing. It fosters a vibrant craft economy and preserves both traditional and contemporary crafts across nine states.

TWEETSIE RAILROAD

Tweetsie Railroad is a Wild West-themed park in Blowing Rock, North Carolina. It offers train rides, amusement attractions, and live shows. Featured is the historic steam locomotive, Number 12, offering scenic rides through the Blue Ridge Mountains.

GRANDFATHER MOUNTAIN

Grandfather Mountain is a nature reserve known for its scenic views, wildlife habitats, and the Mile High Swinging Bridge. It offers hiking trails, educational programs, and conservation efforts, making it a destination for all sorts of outdoor enthusiasts.

BLUE RIDGE PARKWAY

The Blue Ridge Parkway is a 469-mile scenic route through the Appalachian Mountains, linking Great Smoky Mountains National Park and Shenandoah National Park, featuring hiking, picnics, and cultural overlooks.
