Winged Wonders

E.O Wilson once called butterflies the "flowers of the air." Beautiful with brilliant colors and graceful flight, butterflies enhance our landscapes, play a pivotal role in pollination and let us know if an ecosystem is healthy or not. In this fascinating and beautiful adventure, students will learn about the butterfly life cycle, pollination, and how to create habitats small and large that support these majestic creatures. Students will even learn how to attract their very own butterflies!
Required Materials: This session will use the learning game app Kahoot! For the best experience, download the Kahoot! app to your secondary device such as a phone or tablet. Don't worry if you don't have a secondary device - we will give instructions during the session on how to play the game on your laptop or desktop.
Optional Materials: Download the Learning & Discussion Guide to track your learning as we go; Educators and parents can use the answer key. For a fun hands-on activity after the session, use the Build a Butterfly Feeder activity sheet.
