Materials Scientist | Researcher | Leader
I am a PhD candidate in Veronica Augustyn's group in the Materials Science and Engineering Department at NC State University. My research is focused on using materials design approaches to obtain mechanistic insights into electrochemical reactions. More specifically, I am interested in studying the influence of confinement on electrocatalytic reactions.
I have served in leadership positions and actively participate in SciBridge, which is an organization that strives to equip universities in East Africa with the necessary materials to perform hands-on learning activities related to cutting-edge energy technologies. Through participation in SciBridge activities, I have learned the value of international collaboration and connection to different life experiences. To further promote these efforts in the materials community, I am on the ACerS Humanitarian Activities Network Committee.
I tutor students that benefit from additional assistance and encouragement in learning as part of the homework club at my church. I believe it is important to invest in the next generation of students and empower them to discover and accomplish short-term and long-term goals. In 2021-2022, I am serving as the coordinator of the homework club.
