Sphero is a bluetooth controlled gyroscopic robot. There are several game apps for mobile devices to drive to bot. Since the Sphero is bluetooth, it can only connect one robot to to one device at a time. The Sphero can be programed using a couple of apps. Sphero built their own learning
We are going to do the Planetary Motion Activity. This activity will look at the way spheres spin and when spinning objects rotate around on elliptical patterns. Follow the steps within the activity which include watching the videos and programming.
Open the Sphero Sprk Log in to the app as a student. Use the account below to access the activity.

Step 1: Watch the Planetary Motion Intro video in the app.
Step 2: Planets spin in different directions. You will be coming up with a planet of your own. To see what happens as a sphere spins, try coding the Sphero to rotate. Select the icon at the top that looks like a steering wheel to enter into the coding part of the app. The coding blocks are at the bottom of the screen. Use your finger to scroll through the codes. Drag the code to the in the workspace.
Step 3: Open a Google Doc and share it with the group. There are two questions to answer. You may have to go back to the code and edit it to reflect what the questions are asking. Answer the question in the Doc. Keep following the steps and answering the questions in the Doc.
