¡Hola! Olá!

Since earning my Master of Arts degree from NCSU in 2008, I have taught beginning and intermediate level courses in Spanish and Portuguese. I am a lifelong language learner and I enjoy expanding my knowledge about other languages and L2 instructional methods.

I served as the Spanish Club faculty adviser from 2010 - 2021. The interest and enthusiasm of the students who participated in our events was inspiring to me and I loved working with everyone involved in the club!

I hold a Bachelor of Arts degree from Wake Forest University where I earned a double major in Spanish and Studio Art.

During my time as an undergraduate student I spent a semester in Salamanca, Spain. It was a wonderful opportunity to be able to spend several months in this fascinating country and to study at its oldest institution of higher education.

Additionally, I have spent time in various regions of Brazil and Portugal where I have been able to use my knowledge of Portuguese. I enjoy learning about its similarities and differences with other Romance languages.

In 2022 I became the Portuguese section coordinator for the World Languages & Cultures Department.

I also became co-director of the Spain: Language & Culture in Valencia summer study abroad program in 2022. This 5-week program is a great way for students to get a taste of what living in Spain is like and to challenge their self-sufficiency and language skills abroad. It is an amazing experience and I look forward to returning with the next group of students to the phenomenal city of Valencia.

In my free time I enjoy painting, drawing, visiting cultural events and venues, traveling, playing volleyball, and exploring local trails.
