Did you know that we need to be mindful when we grow and harvest the food from our garden? We need to make sure we are washing our hands and using clean tools to harvest so that we don't spread any germs that make us sick onto our food.

Hooray! The time has come to harvest your garden! Be sure to follow these simple food safety steps when you are getting ready to harvest your vegetables
Remember to:
Wash your hands very well. Sing your favorite song for 20 seconds.
Use clean scissors to harvest. Wash these with soap and water.
Put your harvest in a clean container like a bowl.
Rinse your veggies very well under cool water. Rinse any dirt off.
Store your veggies in the refrigerator until they are ready to use!

Soap
Towel
Wet hands with warm water and soap
Rub soap into hands and arms for 10-15 seconds M
Rinse hands with running water.
Clean running water should be used to prevent re-contamination from dirty or previously used water
Dry hands with disposable paper towels or electric dryer
