Mock Cables

Mock Cables was made on a circular knit machine using a four color rotation. The object was to create a mock cable without the bulk to be used in athletic wear. Four different yarns were used to achieve a shrinking effect. The two yarns used to create the background and first shadow were made up of a pre-shrunk nylon poly blend, while the second shadow yarn was made of a preshrunk cotton and the main cable yarn was made of a non-shrunk cotton. The object was to allow the cables to shrink during washing, while all the other yarns were pre-shrunk. This created a poof, simulating a small cable.
