Spatial Problem Solving
This portfolio showcases knowledge and skills acquired throughout my participation in this Spatial Problem Solving course, under North Carolina State University. Throughout this course, I learnt how to solve real live geographic problems through different advanced geospatial analysis. The course integrated both theory and practice, in conducting advanced analysis, starting from data preparation, data integration and analysis using different formats, and data visualization to inform evidence based decision making. This also incorporated real life and more practical problem identification, step-by-step planning for resolution to deal with the problem using geospatial tools, data searching and preparation to be used to solve the problem, advanced analysis using ArcGIS Pro, data interpretation, results display through professional map products and other visuals, and formulation of recommendations as a solution to the problem.
The following pages explore various skills acquired throughout the course. Among others, the main themes cut across all aspects of geospatial analysis, starting from assigning geographic codes to tabular data, joining and relating datasets, analyzing and finding patterns in the datasets, identifying suitable sites for specific phenomena, and conducting image classification to assign different land cover classes to pixels in a satellite image.
