Local Farm CIty Tour DAY

We will be hosting local tours in Forsyth County on October 16th. Transportation will be provided. We hope to see you there!

Choose from one of three tours for the day and explore what Forsyth County has to offer!

Tour 1: Hemp, Horses, and Cookies Oh My!

Industrial hemp is a fast growing industry with no signs of slowing down. Believe it or not, hemp is being grown here in Forsyth County! From farmers to local dispensaries to homemade cookies to champion horses the Hemp, Horses, and Cookies Oh My! local tour will be informative and very tasty. Stops at Mrs. Hanes Moravian Cookies will be made to cater to your sweet tooth while Legacy Saddlebred Stables provides you with a tour filled with beautiful horses, scenery, and you may even get to meet a celebrity!

Tour 2: The FARM in Farm-City

Are you a cheese lover? Or a lover of animals and horticulture? If so, then the FARM in Farm City tour is just for you! From goat cheeses and soap at the Buffalo Creek Farm and Creamery to experiencing the beautiful varieties of flowers at the Paul J. Ciener Botanical Garden, The FARM in Farm-City tour will have you thanking a farmer afterwards.

Tour 3: The CITY in Farm-City

This local tour puts the CITY in Farm-City! Highlighting key stops at local businesses that value the importance of urban agriculture and its impact on Forsyth County. The CITY in Farm City tour will leave you feeling energized after visiting Krankies Coffee and learning their role in the city's urban agriculture.

Lunch and Learn (all tours)

Lunch will be provided for all tours by Mrs. Pumpkins while you enjoy a Lunch and Learn presentation by Try Healthy. Here you will have the opportunity to learn more about Try Healthy and see their new Blender Bikes at work. You may even get a chance to power it yourself and make a delicious fall recipe!


Tours will begin at 8:30 a.m. and end approximately between 4 p.m. and 5 p.m. (depending on local traffic) at the N.C. Cooperative Extension, Forsyth County Center on Wednesday, October 16th, 2019 at 1450 Fairchild Rd. Winston-Salem, NC 27105. Transportation will be provided.
