The goal of this club is to be very hands on and promote learning through doing. We will be learning the basics of soldering and assembling educational medical equipment kits such as a Optical Heart Rate Monitor kits and ECG Simulator kits (pictured above). These kits simplify medical equipment down to its most basic form, which allows us to understand it and apply our knowledge to larger devices. We focus on collaborative problem solving and encourage members to design solutions in a team environment.
We bi-weekly Mondays from 7-8pm in EB3 2232 on Centennial Campus. Our first meeting for Fall 2021 is August 30, 2021. Please email us at ncstateewh@gmail.com if you have any questions or to get added to our roster!
Future Plans
________________________________________
We hope to travel to low resource countries and apply our skills to repairing medical equipment and devices. In the past, NC State has had a partnership with a hospital in Guatemala, and we hope to reestablish this connection.
As our organization grows larger we hope to accept and screen medical equipment donations for Engineering World Health. This is a big step, so we are looking for partnerships and guidance in this process. Please reach out to us via email if you have an opportunity to share!
