My work at NC State is grounded in a commitment to student engagement, mentorship, and inclusive community building. Across advising, research supervision, and committee service, I strive to create meaningful, high‑impact experiences that support students’ academic, professional, and personal growth.
I advise the NC State College Fed Challenge Team, mentoring students as they analyze real‑time macroeconomic conditions, develop near‑term forecasts, and defend a monetary policy recommendation before Federal Reserve judges. This work represents one of the department’s most rigorous experiential‑learning opportunities and directly supports students’ development in data analysis, policy evaluation, and economic communication.

As the Faculty Advisor for the Arab Student Organization, I support students in building community, celebrating cultural identity, and fostering cross‑cultural understanding on campus. My role includes:
Mentoring student leaders
Supporting event planning and organizational development
Promoting inclusive programming
Helping students navigate university resources
ASO plays a vital role in creating a sense of belonging for Arab and Arab‑American students. Advising this organization allows me to support students’ cultural expression, leadership development, and personal growth.
I serve as a Thesis Co‑Advisor for graduate students conducting original research in economics. I guide students through:
Topic development and research design
Data collection and empirical analysis
Literature review and theoretical framing
Drafting, revising, and presenting their work
Thesis advising allows me to mentor students as they transition from learners to researchers, building confidence and scholarly identity.
My service to the department and university reflects a commitment to strengthening teaching, student success, and academic excellence. I currently serve on:
Teaching Innovation & Durable Skills Committee
Supporting initiatives that enhance teaching effectiveness and help students build durable skills such as communication, critical thinking, and data literacy.
Student Awards, Honors & ODE Committee
Evaluating student achievements, supporting recognition processes, and promoting academic excellence.
Faculty Library Committee
Collaborating on decisions related to library resources, research support, and instructional materials.
Across all these roles, a single goal unifies my work:
to create meaningful, high‑impact experiences that help students grow academically, professionally, and personally.
I believe that when students are given opportunities to apply their knowledge, lead with confidence, and engage with their community, they develop the skills and identity needed to thrive beyond the university.
