Summary: This talk is a comprehensive introduction to 2024 Quantitative Methods in HIV/AIDS Research Program at Duke University School of Medicine. This is an educational program funded by the NIAID R25 training grant (2018-2028). The talks focuses on the following four aspects: (i) the program overview and useful information for future potential interns; (ii) the introduction to HIV/AIDS history, epidemiology and prevention; (iii) the speaker's summer internship project: Social Determinants for HIV Status and Reporting Undetectable Viral Load Among Transgender Women in South Africa; (iv) a number of useful things learned during the internship and recommendation for working in a collaborative environment.
