Reflection on German Education System:
My key takeaway was that I wish we could adopt the vocational school within the last 2 years of high school as an option. With high drop out rates and prohibitive cost of college, this would be an excellent opportunity to prepare young people for the work force and keep them in school because they are learning relevant useful tools.
Visual Thinking Analysis: The Gallery of Beauties at the Nymphenburg Palace. I suppose it is in keeping with the general overarching goal of the Bavarian rulers to collect all things beautiful in the world as a show power, privilege and wealth. However, the upside is that the public is now able to enjoy the fruits of all this ambition. Here with this gallery, we can ponder the changing aesthetics of the male gaze.

We've come a long way from the Nazi flag hanging from the Rathaus. I also appreciated seeing all the pride flags on trams and around the city.
The dark past lurks as shown in this series of photos in the Pinakotech Moderne documenting several racial hate attacks in the 90s and also mentioned in our visit yesterday the Halle synagogue shooting in 2019.
The city seems very divided ethnically when we are spending our time around fancy museum areas in contrast to a block from our hotel which seems heavily Middle Eastern and African. This printed aluminum sculpture was speaking to that gulf.
Nice to see the accessibility of a tasting garden for the blind in the Rose Garden. Also interestingly, a poisonous plant garden. Oddly, they put them right next to each other.

Pixlr identity lesson plan
I would have my students write an I AM poem with a minimum of 4 images using Pixlr as an intro lesson for my Art + Design classes which are required for all freshmen. This is my example. I believe it would help me get to know the students in a primarily visual way.
