Nate Myers

I am a Computer Science/STEM teacher at Fusion Academy Raleigh. I have taught at different types of schools, from public, charter, alternative, afterschool, and private across three different areas including Durham, Wake County, and Rocky Mount. I received my B.S. from NC State University in Science, Technology, and Society (STS) with a minor in Arts Entrepreneurship. I love teaching design thinking principles, as well as exposing students, especially in underrepresented communities, to various tech opportunities including robotics, coding, 3d printing, and music production. Outside of work I love spending time with my family, reading/watching Star Wars, and playing golf.

I signed up for this program because I love traveling, experiencing other cultures, and learning and exchanging knowledge with other cultures. I am looking forward to learning more about German culture, including everything from their history to education system. I am looking forward to understanding how learning about another culture can make me a better teacher, a more culturally responsive teacher, and a more experiential teacher that can incorporate various tech tools into a design-thinking instructional approach.
