BLOCKCHAIN AT NC STATE
The Blockchain Club at NC State is dedicated to bringing together students and community members to learn, research, and connect with the blockchain industry. The club’s mission is to foster education, hands-on experience, and professional networking, empowering members to participate in and contribute to the rapidly evolving blockchain ecosystem.
Blockchain is a digital ledger distributed across a network of computers, ensuring no single point of control. Transactions are recorded in a way that is transparent to all participants and highly resistant to tampering or fraud. Data is grouped into “blocks.” Each block is linked to the previous one, forming a secure, chronological “chain.” Once information is added to the blockchain, it cannot be changed without altering every subsequent block and gaining approval from the network.

NC STATE BLOCKCHAIN RESEARCH
The lab is directed by Dr. Hong Wan, an Associate Professor at NC State ISE, whose research spans blockchain, simulation modeling, supply chain management, AI, and big data analytics. Dr. Wan’s work includes risk assessment in blockchain, secure IoT networks, and real-time analytics for fraud detection, with applications across healthcare, finance, and military domains
