Agricultural Awareness Field Trip

N.C. Cooperative Extension and 4-H are happy to be able to present to you the Agricultural Awareness Field Trip! This field trip is all about agriculture. You might be thinking, "What exactly is agriculture anyway?" That is a great question! Agriculture is the science or practice of farming, including cultivation of the soil for the growing of plants, and the upkeep and handling of livestock and their products. So this could includes growing fruits and vegetables, to having a dairy cattle farm to produce milk and cheese, to raising sheep for their wool, and to even raising animals for our food supply.

On this trip, you are going to explore many parts of agriculture and discover why it is so important to our every day lives! We will be talking about bees, cattle, dairy cattle, goats, horses, nutrition pertaining to foods you can obtain through agriculture, sheep, plants, and poultry. This is going to be a fun fact learning series and we cannot wait to take this journey with you!
