Community Coordinator

Alex Currin was born in Raleigh and grew up in Louisburg, NC. He attended North Carolina State University and pursued a degree in Secondary English Education. After teaching English at Southern Nash High School for 6 years, he decided to become a Community Coordinator at NCSSM. His hobbies include playing Civilization V, hoarding obscure board games, and forcing his friends to watch cat-related Tiktoks. Responsibilities

Serve as a resource and part of the support system for students
Provide fun and engaging hall activities
Ensure cleanliness standards on hall and in rooms
Work as part of a duty rotation and provide support to entire campus.
Directly handle minor disciplinary incidents and investigate larger incidents

Residential Life Assitants

RLAs are senior students that provide leadership, advice, and support for students on hall. They also help with the day to day running of the hall by taking check, checking housekeeping, and hosting some activities. Please remember that they are students, not professional staff members; please direct any questions or concerns about hall to me directly and not the RLAs.

Johnathan Strickland

Hey everyone! My name is Johnathan Strickland and I’m from Kure Beach, a small coastal town outside Wilmington. I do both cross country as well as track and field here at NCSSM, and I love getting outdoors whenever I can. When I’m not outside, I’m probably either studying earth science or working on my research project on Martian dust storms. I’m looking forward to establishing a great hall community this year! Chase Aiken

Hi! My name is Chase Aiken and I'm so excited to be a 3rd West RLA. I am from a small town, Hampstead, about 40 minutes north of Wilmington. In my spare time, I enjoy swimming, fishing, playing volleyball (ask me about boy's volleyball!), and watching the Carolina Hurricanes. I can't wait to help you all adjust to school and get to know you throughout the year.

DeMario Perez

Hello, my name is DeMario Perez and I am from Fayetteville, NC. I am quite interested in chemistry, specifically bio and organic chemistry and as of now I plan on majoring in biochemistry. I enjoy taking long walks, listening to music whenever I can(drain gang, jpegmafia, Björk, and Freddie Gibbs at the moment), playing and watching soccer, learning political history(particularly 19th and 20th centuries), constantly replaying Fallout New Vegas, and spending time in nature.
