The UniChords are NCSSM's very own co-ed a cappella group dedicated to bringing a unique form of vocal music to the NCSSM community through student-led rehearsals and performance.
UniChords prides itself on being both student-led and student-populated, with much assistance from our wonderful sponsor, Ethan Pardue. Please contact Lucia or Noah if you have questions about the club!
We meet on Wednesdays from 8 pm - 9 pm in the Woolworth Room (Ground ETC).
We typically split into 4 voice parts, soprano, alto, tenor, and bass, but we have also experimented with 5- and 6-part music. Many of our arrangements also include solos, which give members opportunities to show their individual talent. In terms of song selection, we typically sing pop songs (not necessarily recent ones though!), but we're also open to other suggestions!
We use a software called MuseScore for arranging and rehearsing our songs. It is an extremely useful tool for making the most out of each and every practice. It's free and safe to download. We recommend you have this already downloaded and ready to use before our first official practice.
We use our Facebook group as a place for important updates on rehearsal times, performance times, and really all things UniChords. We also use a Facebook Messenger group chat for less urgent announcements/updates. Please Join if you're interested!
We have an Instagram page as well!
