Welcome to Step Up to STEM!/ (¡Bienvenido a Step Up to STEM!)

We are grateful to have each of you here with us for the 12th year of our NCSSM Step Up to STEM Summer program!  Each summer we look forward to the energy you bring and the connections that are made between students, faculty and the community at NCSSM.   Our theme this summer is "Be BOLD, Dream BIG."     While many things have changed and are rapidly changing, one thing is certain, we need brave students who are willing to step up to the greater challenge and boldly chase their dreams!   You have already signaled your desire to prepare for your future by participating in the Step up to STEM program.  We are committed to helping each of you Be Bold and Dream Big not only academically, but personally and professionally as well.

We have an exciting array of courses focused on investigating and solving problems in STEM taught by our amazing instructors.  In addition, we have a fun and informative week of in-person and virtual activities planned to celebrate and inspire STEM excellence.

We challenge you to take some time throughout this week to engage with your instructors and your peers, investigate applications of STEM, ask thoughtful questions, and explore ways to use your voice and intellect to make a positive impact in your sphere of influence.
