With a focus on developing stage presence, students acquire confidence and build upon their skills as a theater artist. In a workshop setting, students create character and story while using various approaches to stage movement. The semester culminates in a final performance that may include found, devised, and/or scripted text. There are no audition or prerequisites for this course, and the course is repeatable for credit.

The Morganton Drama Program offers two main stage productions each season—a Fall Play, and a Spring Musical. Auditions are open to any student regardless of their prior theater experience. Additionally, there are positions for stage managers, lighting and sound designers, set builders, costume and props designers, as well as marketing coordinators and stage crew. Upon completing an audition or interview, participation requires a semester-long commitment to the production.
