Utilizing social media to build your professional learning network (PLN) can change your world.  During the pandemic, teachers went to social media platforms like Twitter and Facebook and created a sharing community of resources.  These platforms can be a game changer for you!  Need a resource for a particular book or subject that you teach.....all you have to do is ask on one of these social media pages or groups.

To earn your RED belt:

Complete the following requirements

Create a professional Twitter account to build PLN

• • Follow other professionals in your field and add people that they follow.

  • By doing this, your feed will be filled with ideas that you can use in your classroom or office.  Do NOT add friends....this should be a strictly professional Twitter account.

Create a professional Facebook page and follow pages like:

  • Teachers Using Google Classroom

  • Teaching with Technology

  • Chromebook Classroom

  • Technology Teacher Talk with Brittany Washburn

  • Amazing Educational Resources

Create a Wakelet resource page with professional collections of

resources for your class.

• Create a Wakelet collection for blogs that you now follow on social media.  

• Create TWO Wakelet collections for your class.  Include resources, sites, links for units that you teach.  These might be collections that you plan to share with your students in the future.

• Create a Wakelet and ADD a collaborator.  This collection will house resources/lessons/units that you might collaborate with another colleague.
