Watch the tutorial video over Wheel of Names on this page.
Go to wheelofnames.com and get acquainted with the site. Pro tip: as mentioned in the video, it's recommended that you create a free account on the site so that you can keep old wheels that you create.
Use Wheel of Names in your classroom in some way (either by using it yourself to delegate tasks or by sharing a created wheel with students). Here are some examples to consider:
Select students at random for a class discussion.
Choose names for a group project.
Use the wheel to assign random writing topics.
Randomly choose problems or questions to demonstrate during direct instruction.
When you use your wheel in class, take a screenshot* of your wheel with loaded content on it, take another screenshot of the "winner" of the wheel spin when it's announced by the wheel, AND provide the share link to your wheel all in the Google Form below.
Alternatively, if you have the Awesome Screenshot Chrome extension, you could kill two birds with one stone and screen record your spin where it shows your spin content and the "winner."
*Instructions for taking screenshots on a Chromebook:
Full screen screenshot: Ctrl+windows shift button (looks like a rectangle with two lines next to it; above the 6 key).
Partial screenshot: Ctrl+Shift+windows shift button (looks like a rectangle with two lines next to it; above the 6 key). Click and drag around the area you'd like to grab.
Screenshots will be sent to your Downloads file (small blue circular icon with a file folder inside found in the apps menu -- click the small circle icon in far bottom left corner of Chromebook screen to find the Downloads file).
Please refer back to step number four above to get instructions on what you need to present in order to get your badge.
