What is the MOte extension?
The first Chrome extension that lets you easily add voice comments and feedback to shared documents.
Mote works with Google Docs, Slides and Sheets, as well as Google Classroom.
Mote supports transcription in more than 20 world languages, including English, Spanish, French, Portuguese and Arabic.
Mote for teachers:
Ask students questions and provide feedback, quickly and with the feeling of human connection. Whether you're at home or in the classroom, mote helps educators and students to stay connected.
Add voice comments within Google Classroom's Stream and Private Comments views, as well as within Google Docs, Slides and Sheets.
Mote for students:
Students are now welcome to use mote to connect with their teachers and classmates - mote is certified for student use in the United States.
Students can also react to teacher feedback and comments to let teachers know that they've understood, will take action, or that they need more help.

New feature alert.......Insert Audio Directly into Google Slides with Mote. You can also use Mote to leave voice comments in Docs, Slides, and Forms! Create instant voice notes using Mote's Motepad. The Motepad creates an instant hyperlink that you can share anywhere (i.e. link in Forms, link in your LMS, etc.). All Motes save in your Mote account. Happy Moting!

Pro tip #1 - Try transcription
It's really easy to add transcription, or change transcription language - just click the 'M' mote logo in your browser bar. (If you can't see the mote 'M' icon, try clicking on the puzzle 🧩 icon, and then 'pin' our icon to your browser bar.)
Pro Tip #2 - Preview your audio + transcript before posting
Once you've hit 'DONE' after finishing your recording, you'll see some text, and a purple button. In Google Classroom Private Comments, it will look like the one below, but in other apps it may look a bit different. If you click this, you'll be able to preview and edit your voice note before posting it.
Pro Tip #3 - Save voice notes to your 'motebook'
Your motebook is a place to store and retrieve voice notes that you've created and want to save to re-use later. Learn all about using the motebook here.
