Please watch the video on the left to become familiarized with the Google Drive features and functions.
Go to drive.google.com or click the Google "waffle" as it's sometimes referred to (block of small squares next to your account profile icon on the Google homepage) and click the Drive icon.
Create a new Google Doc. Put some random text in it.
Create a folder in your Google Drive and name it Drive Badge.
Use the "Move to" function to move your sample document to the new folder you just created.
Go to your Shared with Me area. Locate something that has been shared with you recently and add it as a shortcut to your Drive. Move that file to the shared folder you created above.
Open and download this sample Microsoft Word document and this sample PDF file. When they open up, please click the download button, which is located in the upper right corner of the window. It looks like a downward-pointing arrow pointing at a horizontal line. After you have them downloaded to your computer/Chromebook, upload them to your Google Drive as directed in the video. Please place them in the shared folder you created and shared in steps 3 and 4 above.
Screenshot* the folder that you created above and submit it to the Google Form provided below.
Google Drive has three new advanced search terms:
FROM: show files shared to you from a specific person.
TO: show files you shared with a specific person.
SHAREDWITH: shows files accessible by a specific person
These (any many more) advanced search terms are available in the search drop-down in Drive.
Take a screenshot* of the shared folder you created in the steps above and upload the image using the Google Form below. Please don't forget to click Submit.
*Instructions for taking screenshots on a Chromebook:

Partial screenshot: Ctrl+Shift+windows shift button (looks like a rectangle with two lines next to it; above the 6 key). Click and drag around the area you'd like to grab.
Screenshots will be sent to your Downloads file (small blue circular icon with a file folder inside found in the apps menu -- click the small circle icon in far bottom left corner of Chromebook screen to find the Downloads file).
