What are Chrome Extensions? Chrome Extensions are programs that you can add to your Google Chrome browser that make the Chrome experience more tailored to you. They add to the functionality of the web browser. These extensions can include things like url shorteners, Gmail notification, Screencastify (applicable to daily school use), as well as entertaining ones like Ncage, which, when enabled, changes every image on any website you visit to a picture of Nicholas Cage. Once installed, you can choose which extensions to have available on your toolbar for easy access.
Some extensions work in the background, and perform automatically, like CheckerPlus for Gmail, which notifies you of and allows you to read and respond to emails. Others, like Screencastify, require that you right-click on the icon to enable options.
