Watch the videos provided to learn about what Explain Everything has to offer.
Go to ExplainEverything.com and sign up for a free account. You can actually just click the "Sign In" button and choose to sign in under your school Google account. It will automatically sign you up.
Create a lesson as explained in the longer video.
You are able to create a lesson from scratch, OR you can upload a document to Explain Everything. On the free version, it appears that only PDF documents are able to be uploaded.
If you use a PDF document, Explain Everything is perfect for document annotation!
To zoom in or out on a document, pinching your fingers or widening them on the screen will allow you to easily do so.
In order to share your evidence / artifact of completion for this badge, you may do one of the following:
Record your lesson using the Explain Everything recording feature that is native / built into the platform. Upload your video to the Google Form below.
Take a screenshot* of your lesson inside of Explain Everything and upload it to the Google Form below.
Finally, give some feedback on how you think Explain Everything will continue to help your classroom workflow and / or students.
Explain Everything's YouTube Channel
Explain Everything Help Center
Explain Everything Blog (good tips and tricks)
Explain Everything Webinars (training material)
Using the drawing / annotation tools in Explain Everything tend to be a little stubborn on response time when using a pen stylus.
Using your finger might be the best way to get good results when writing on it as a whiteboard or when annotating / demonstrating.
When uploading documents, PDFs are the only ones accepted in the free version. If you have an upgraded package, you are able to add material from Google Drive (such as Google Slides as shown in the tutorial video).
👆👆 A note about the above video: it is a very good tutorial over what Explain Everything has to offer. The device the video host uses is an iPad, but those same features will work well on teacher touchscreen Chromebooks. Also, it seems she is using the premium version of Explain Everything in the video, so some of those features won't be available on the free version. Please see below for info on upgraded package features, etc.
*Instructions for taking screenshots on a Chromebook:
Full screen screenshot: Ctrl+windows shift button (looks like a rectangle with two lines next to it; above the 6 key).
Partial screenshot: Ctrl+Shift+windows shift button (looks like a rectangle with two lines next to it; above the 6 key). Click and drag around the area you'd like to grab.
Screenshots will be sent to your Downloads file (small blue circular icon with a file folder inside found in the apps menu -- click the small circle icon in far bottom left corner of Chromebook screen to find the Downloads file).
Please refer back to steps 3-5 above. Create your lesson and prepare it to be submitted below in the Google Form.
