Almost Fun (AlmostFun.org) is a new site that focuses on both math and English skills for the classroom. In addition to that, it has great teaching resources one can use such as downloadable guides, lesson templates, and rubrics. Even more, they offer other helpful information on ACT and SAT testing. For students, Almost Fun offers practice questions over reading, writing, and math.
This is a tool that is likely to see some new changes and additions to the site. It is still a very useful site as it is currently! The philosophy behind this new tool is to bring awareness to culturally responsive teaching for the non-traditional student.

*Please note: AlmostFun.org is still a work in progress. You may see some material that is not available due to their continual expansion of resources.
Watch the video to the left to learn what Almost Fun is all about and what it has to offer.
Go the the Almost Fun website and explore it to find something you might like to use in your lesson prepping, with your entire class, or even with some select students who might need extra help and tutoring in math or English.
Almost Fun does not have the capability to create classes within the platform, so activities cannot be "assigned" to students. In order to get your Almost Fun badge, choose one of the following two routes:
Use Almost Fun practice questions/tutorial math or English lessons with your whole class or students who might need extra tutoring. As the students complete the exercises on the site, have them take some screenshots of their completed tasks you assign them to finish (this can be found on the students' Practice Question dashboard--it will indicate how many [out of 10] questions he or she has finished). Once they take their screenshots, they could share them with you via email or a shared Google Drive folder.
Access the "For Teachers" section of the website. Locate a lesson template you would like to use or utilize a rubric that is on the site. Integrate the lesson and/or rubric in your classroom and then write a brief reflection on how you believe the lesson performed using the new material you found on the site. Your reflection should be at least 6-8 sentences.
To be awarded your badge, please submit one of the two collection of artifacts described above using the Google Form below.
